Frequently asked questions

Good to know

Do I need a referral?

No. In most cases, you do not need a doctor’s referral. Some medical aid plans or specific insurance claims may require one, so it’s worth checking your policy.

How long is a consultation?

Initial and follow-up consultations are typically 45-60 minutes, allowing time for a comprehensive assessment and quality care.

Do you accept medical aids?

Yes. We accept most South African medical aids. Consultations may be claimed directly or paid upfront and submitted for reimbursement, depending on your plan.

How many sessions will I need?

This depends on your condition, goals and response to treatment. We will discuss an expected treatment plan after your initial assessment.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy movement. Shorts are useful for lower-limb injuries, and a sleeveless or loose top helps with shoulder, neck or upper-back assessment.

What should I bring?

Please bring your ID, medical aid card if applicable, referral letters, relevant imaging or reports, and a list of current medications if relevant.

What happens during my first appointment?

We discuss your symptoms and history, complete a physical assessment, explain our findings, begin treatment where appropriate and create a rehabilitation plan.

Do you offer home visits?

Home visits may be available for patients unable to attend the practice. Contact us to discuss availability and the areas serviced.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give at least 24 hours’ notice.

Do I need imaging before I book?

No. A thorough physiotherapy assessment is often enough. If imaging is necessary, we will discuss this and guide you.
